@Don P. Jensen Jr. Do you think it is good for officials to make decisions based on their own personal financial best interests? There is a reason trustees are considered fiduciaries in Illinois and there is a reason no politician campaigns on a platform of personal benefit.

I am just asking Caporale acknowledge his financial interest.

Under what definition of capitalism would using public funds to enrich yourself be?

What are your examples of this money being put back in the community? I would rather our public dollars be spent transparently to benefit everyone out in the open.

So what if some other “small towns” function this way? How could that possibly benefit residents to not know this information?

So I have to ask in any of the successful towns around us can you show that none of the trustees have any financial gain when sitting on those seats.

Also if he's bringing a net positive to the tax base I can't see how this is a loss. I understand that a lot of you folks who follow the advocate are opposed to capitalism. But the reason we have the parks we do in town and the reason we have the fest and the reason we have a lot of the things we have that brought you to the town is because folks who've been trustees in the past at financially benefited and then put that money back in the community.

This is not Chicago This is not the federal government This is a very small town and this is also not an uncommon practice if you look at how the other small towns around us also function.
