The Elmwood Park Advocate At The 4th Of July Parade
To further demonstrate our commitment to bringing back local journalism, the Elmwood Park Advocate participated in the village’s 4th of July parade.
Our presence also showed that we do not just write and report on the village. We are part of the community, too.
Co-editors Sara Lindsay and Kevin Gosztola walked the route and interacted with numerous residents, who had never heard of the Elmwood Park Advocate. They also encountered a diverse range of residents, who had at some point read an article or seen a posting. Which is amazing given that the newsletter has only existed for a little more than a year.
Kevin’s family was in a bright blue convertible with white banners that had the newsletter’s name. His toddler enjoyed waving and saying “hi to all the people.”
If you would like to pledge a subscription or make a donation so that we can keep growing and maintain this newsletter, we would appreciate it. And if you ever have a story about life in the village or something important that you’re doing in this community, we encourage you to email newsletter@elmwoodparkadvocate.org and share it with us.
Now, here are several photographs that Seth Greenberg took of the Fourth of July parade.
