We Want To Hear From You—Survey On The Library's New Hours
Hello,
Thank you for your engagement and interest in our reporting on the Elmwood Park Public Library’s cuts to evening hours.
New library hours went into effect on June 1. The library now closes at 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 6 p.m. on Friday.
The library conducted a survey during "Trivia Night" on April 30. The survey asked 24 attendees about the library's plans to cut evening hours. But the survey was never shared more widely. The library board voted to eliminate hours without additional feedback from residents or library visitors.
Considering the likelihood that the library will use the initial cuts to justify further cuts to hours in the evenings (and possibly mornings), the Elmwood Park Advocate is circulating a version of the library's survey—go here.
Typos in the original survey were removed, and some of the available choices were made more clear. The questions were also updated to reflect the change to hours that just went into effect.
Whether you are for or against the cuts, please take a moment to share your perspective with us. We’ll pass along your responses to the library, and we’ll also use what you share to ensure that our publication remains focused on what matters most to residents when it comes to the library.
