Village trustees will offer their final seal of approval for the construction of two parking lots behind Donny G’s Ristorante and Armand’s Pizzeria on North Avenue.

Let’s Play Bingo!

The library is hosting a fun night of bingo for adults and seniors. No registration required.
Wednesday, August 6
Summer Sounds ‘25 Concert
7 p.m. | Dominican University in River Forest
Donna Herula, a blues singer, songwriter, and slide guitarist in the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame, brings her band to Dominican University. Her album, “Bang at the Door,” won “Best Acoustic Blues Album” at the 2022 Independent Blues Awards.

West Side Parks and Their Architects
6:30 p.m. | Elmwood Park Public Library Tom Drebenstedt, a Chicago Architecture Society volunteer guide and gardening expert, discusses two nearby parks and their history—Jens Jensen's Columbus Park and Alfred Caldwell's Riis Park. CANCELED

Start the weekend off with some family fun. There are carnival rides and games and a craft corner. Three musical acts—Drawers, HiFi Superstar, and The Lounge Puppets—also take the stage to perform mostly classic rock.

Taste Of Elmwood Park: ‘Fitness In The Park’

Eat something you haven’t had yet. Watch a little bit of bocce ball while you devour that panzerotti. Then hang around and enjoy music from several rockin’ bands—Triangle Park, The Wayouts, The Gingers, Anthem’s Grand Illusion, and Wedding Banned.
Taste Of Elmwood Park: Meatball Eating Contest
4:00 p.m. | Central Park
Rosebud Restaurants sponsors a meatball eating contest that will feature 12 contestants. It will be hosted by ESPN 1000’s Carmen DeFalco. The top three finishers will receive prizes, and all 12 will have someone ask them to sleep on the couch that night (unless they live alone).
